THE PLAY

I don't generally care about college football, but this game's final seconds between Cal State and Stanford in 1982 (who had John Elway at QB) is one of the greatest sport endings I 've ever seen.

Stanford is leading Cal State 20-19 and if they win this game they go to the HALL OF FAME Bowl; and it was to be John Elway's last game as a College Senior. All Stanford had to do is tackle the ball carrier and they win the game. What happens next is 5 flea flickers amoungst the Cal State players towards the end zone, capped off by a touchdown on the head of a Saxaphone player from Stanford's band.

The Marching Band stupidly entered the field prematurely thinking they were going to win. It's probably the most famous play in football.

The broken Saxaphone incindentally is in the College Football Hall of Fame

I have to add-- it reminds my of one of favorite commercials:
Wolves let out onto a football field and at the other end of the field is a marching band. Seeing the band scatter like that in that game reminds me of the commercial.
Sick and twisted--but so funny.
Taken off the air from complaints of being too violent.
